> "In five company-sponsored clinical trials, 31 people out of 1,184 participants died after taking the drug for dementia -- twice the death rate for those taking a placebo."to clarify - this isn't saying 31 deaths were caused by the drug. assuming statistical validity that works out to roughly a 15 deaths / 1.5% increased risk of death. but what if the drug's highly effective against advanced dementia?not saying they're off the hook - sounds like they're in pretty clear violation of the law - but this isn't as simple as drug companies killing people for fun and profit.
