Puro Handsome Barbershop

An extremely challenging project of mine (mirrors, tight space, lousy lighting) was barbershops. While shooting, I discovered that the barbershop is a neutral zone, so to speak, for some men. There exists an intimacy, a delicate-ness between men, a place where the machismo facade gets let down. There is pride in this craft among barbers and surrender and vulnerability among the patrons. It was touching and eye-opening.
